Annual profections move one sign per year from the Ascendant to determine the Lord of the Year (LoY) and the life areas emphasized.

How it works

Age 0–1: 1st house (Ascendant sign)

advance one sign/house; cycle every 12 years

1. Identify the profected house/sign for the current age
2. Determine its ruler (traditional rulerships)

Judge the ruler’s condition

sect, dignity, house, aspects, and topics ruled
4. Weigh transits to the LoY, its sign, and the profected house

Monthly profections

• Within the year, monthly profections advance one sign per month from the annual profected sign
• Use as sub-period rulers for finer timing

Tips

Prioritize angular houses and dignified LoY

• If the LoY is in aversion to the profected sign, look to the participating ruler or planets casting aspects
